Device ManagementThese PERL scripts help us manage our flock of gear, mostly Cisco switches & routers and APC UPSes. Over the years, I've run into gear from Ascend, Allied Telesyn, and HP, and as a result, a few of the scripts support these manufacturers as well. The APC scripts manage American Power Conversion AP96xx cards, typically installed in APC SmartUPS, Matrix, Symmetra, or Silcon UPSes. The BlueArc scripts watch BlueArc servers for alarms. The Cisco scripts manage our flock of CatOS, CatIOS, IOS, and NativeIOS devices. The Dell scripts watch Dell servers for alarms. The Generic scripts have been generalized to work on gear from multiple manufacturers. The Intel scripts watch Intel NICs for alarms. The IP Space scripts manage our IP space. The Misc scripts tackle a range of network management issues. The NetApp scripts watch NetApp servers for alarms. The Nokia scripts work against Nokia IPSO firewalls. The Soma project gathers data about end-stations using anonymous and semi-anonymous methods (dumping CAM and ARP tables from switches and routers, DNS look-ups, NetBIOS name queries, SNMP queries, NMAP and Nessus scans), stores the results in a database, and presents a reporting front-end. The TippingPoint scripts work on Tipping Point IPS devices. The Windows scripts work on WinNT 4.x/5.x. |
